Huron One congratulates client Andy Matthews on qualifying for the US Open Championship
Huron One is proud to congratulate long time client Andy Matthews (http://www.andymatthews.com) on successfully qualifying for the 2007 US Open Golf Championship. Andy shot a 68 in Local Qualifying on May 14th to advance to Sectional Qualifying. At his Sectional Qualifying site on Monday, June 5th, Andy carded rounds of 73-70 to find himself in a 4-way playoff for 2 spots in the Championship.
Finding himself facing a 17-foot putt to save par on the second playoff hole, Andy found the courage to hole that putt, then par the next two holes. Meanwhile, his opponent, former PGA Tour player Neal Lancaster, made bogey on the 4th playoff hole, allowing Andy to advance.
While the pairings have yet to be announced, Andy will be in the 156-man starting field at Oakmont Country Club next Thursday, June 14th. We wish him all the best as he continues to pursue his professional golf career.
